After spending ten years in the Middle East doing public relations, Leila joined a film school back in Paris. After integrating Luc Besson’s production company Europacorp in the music score department, Leila joined the international news channel France 24 (broadcasting in French, English, Arabic and Spanish globally) where she produced cultural programs for more than seven years. Since then, Leila has been covering the Cannes film festival every year (but also Berlin, Jerusalem, Doha and even Cairo) interviewing major filmmakers and cast members, producing portraits, reviews and reports for multiple media such as The Independent, Guitinews, I/O Gazette and other foreign televisions. A member of the SFCC (French Syndicate of Film Critics) and FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) for several years, Leila also participated in the CINEMED critics jury in 2015 and is regularly asked to serve on the press jury of international festivals such as the St. Petersburg documentary festival Message to Man, or short film festivals such as Paris Courts Devant or Off-Courts in Trouville.
