As the world is slowly returning to a pre-Covid normal, one place where this was never more obvious was the annual Toronto Film Festival, which had been mostly online since 2020.

The popular Canadian festival returned with a hugely ambitious and diverse program offering many films we will hear more about going into the height of awards season – like People’s Choice winner, The Fabelmans – as well as panels with everyone from Taylor Swift to Hilary Clinton.

HFPA members Jenny Cooney, Barbara Gasser, and Gabriel Lerman talked about why Toronto is every movie buff’s favorite festival and why movies are finally making a comeback.
