Alan Ruck
Alan Ruck (born July 1, 1956, in Cleveland, OH) received his screen breakthrough from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986). He has acted in Succession (2018) and The Burial (2023) opposite Jamie Foxx, Tommy Lee Jones, and Jurnee Smollett. He’s acted with Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt in Twister (1996), Speed (1994) starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, Bad Boys (1983), Star Trek Generations (1994) starring Patrick Stewart and William Shatner, Cheaper by the Dozen (2003) with Steve Martin, My Dinner with Hervé (2018), I Love You, Beth Cooper (2009), and Young Guns II (1990).
In television, he acted in The Dropout (2022) opposite Amanda Seyfried, and he starred for six seasons on Spin City (1996), starring Michael J. Fox. He’s acted with Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser in Mad About You (1992), Justified (2010), Picket Fences (1992), Boston Legal (2004), Scrubs (2002), Bunheads (2012), Hot in Cleveland (2010) co-starring Betty White, The Exorcist (2016) opposite Geena Davis, Norman Lear’s One Day at a Time (2017), Masters of Sex (2013), and Tom Hanks’s From the Earth to the Moon (1998).
