Hyeongguk Song

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Hyeongguk Song is a journalist for KBS, South Korea’s public broadcaster, and a film critic who contributes film reviews to various media outlets in South Korea. He began his career as a journalist at the newspaper Kyunghyang Daily in 2001, and in 2013 he won the top prize in a film review contest by Cine21, a film magazine. He has also worked as a documentary producer and director for KBS, covering 12 documentaries. In 2023, he won the Korea Broadcasting Awards for best work, one of the most prestigious awards for Korean broadcast journalists. Song also has received many other awards, including the Broadcast Journalists’ Association Journalist Award, etc. This year, he is participating as a visiting researcher in a collaborative program on the K-narrative at Seoul National University.
