Arthur Gadelha
A resident of northeastern Brazil, Arthur Gadelha is a journalist and film critic, a member of the Brazilian Association of Film Critics (ABRACCINE). He currently writes about films and series for the newspaper O POVO, in addition to covering international film festivals such as Cannes and Gramado, and awards ceremonies such as the Golden Globes and the Oscars. He served two terms as president of ACECCINE, the film critics’ association of Ceará state. As a professional critic, he has worked with curation and programming for festivals such as Cine Ceará – Ibero-American Film Festival (CE). He worked as a jury member of Brazilian festivals such as For Rainbow – Festival of Cinema and Culture of Sexual and Gender Diversity and Noia – University Audiovisual Festival. He is the author of the website Ensaio Crítico, where he publishes reviews, interviews, and articles, also covering national festivals such as Olhar de Cinema and Tiradentes. He has a degree in Communication with research on journalism, criticism and Brazilian cinema, and also studied Cinema at the public schools Porto Iracema das Artes and Casa Amarela Eusélio Oliveira (UFC).
