Fernando Zavala is a chilean journalist with over two decades of experience in the field of cinema. Graduated in journalism at Universidad de Concepción (Chile), since the late 90s he has dedicated himself to covering the national and international film industry. His career has been closely linked to El Mercurio, where he has worked since 2000 as an entertainment reporter and film expert, conducting reviews, interviews and analysis that have accompanied the growth of Chilean cinema in recent years.

He has interviewed prominent figures in national and international cinema and his work has also extended to radio, being a regular panelist on the Radio Universo program “Universo al día” with weekly film and streaming recommendations. He has been a jury at festivals such as FEMCINE and Biobío Cine, consolidating his prestige.
