Marco Consoli
After earning his law degree, Marco Consoli fulfilled his lifelong dream of telling stories to a broad audience through journalism. For over three decades, he has been a leading voice in film coverage, writing movie previews and reviews, conducting in-depth interviews with actors and directors, producing investigative features on the film industry, and reporting from major international festivals including Cannes, Venice, San Sebastian, Zurich, Marrakech, Toronto, and many more.
A longtime contributor to Ciak magazine—where he spent 15 years authoring books on Star Wars, Steven Spielberg, and The Lord of the Rings, as well as biographies of master filmmakers and Hollywood icons—Consoli has also written for all of Italy’s top newspapers, including Corriere della Sera and Repubblica, for women’s magazines such as Gioia, Grazia, and Elle, and for other major outlets including L’Espresso, Max, and SportWeek. His bylines extend internationally, with work published in The Japan Times and Awn.
Today, he contributes regularly to Il Venerdì di Repubblica, La Stampa, and a range of other publications such as Vanity Fair, Io Donna, D Repubblica, and Marie Claire. Throughout his career, Consoli has had the privilege of meeting and interviewing a remarkable roster of talent, from Madonna, Nicole Kidman, John Travolta, Martin Scorsese, David Cronenberg, and Denis Villeneuve to Harrison Ford, Bruce Springsteen, Timothée Chalamet, Sean Penn, and countless other luminaries of European and global cinema.
His journalistic range extends beyond film into technology, science, lifestyle, sports, gastronomy, and travel, where he has interviewed Nobel Prize winners, Olympic champions, groundbreaking innovators, and world-renowned chefs. Often, he bridged these subjects with the screen—writing on visual effects, iconic shooting locations, sports-themed films, the intersection of cinema and cuisine, investigative reports on the #MeToo movement, the evolving role of women in the industry, and much more.
