The Voice of Hind Rajab

Written and directed by Kaouther Ben Hania, The Voice of Hind Rajab includes a genuine phone call to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (Palestine’s emergency service) from a 6-year-old in Gaza, hoping to be rescued. Hind Rajab doesn’t appear in the film, only the recording of her voice; the filmmaker said she decided not to have an actress portraying Rajab out of respect. She also had the support of Rajab’s mother to make the film. Actors portray the Red Crescent workers in the film, which is in Arabic and English.
