Nick Cave

Nick Cave (born Sept. 22, 1957, in Warracknabeal, Australia) was the lead singer for the post-punk band The Birthday Party, which performed Down Under then moved to West Berlin in 1982. He then fronted the influential Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. He collaborated with Warren Ellis on many projects including film or TV scores such as Andrew Dominik’s The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007), John Hillcoat’s Cormac McCarthy adaptation The Road, starring Viggo Mortensen (2009), David MacKenzie’s Hell or High Water (2016) and Dominik’s 2022 Blonde. With Bryce Dessner, Cave wrote the title song for the 2025 film Train Dreams. He also scripted John Hillcoat-directed western The Proposition (2005).
