Ellen Corby
Ellen Hansen Corby (born in Racine, Wisconsin, June 3, 1911, died April 14, 1999) acted in movies like I Remember Mama (1948) directed by George Stevens starring Irene Dunne, Little Women (1949) directed by Mervyn LeRoy from the 1868 novel by Louisa May Alcott with June Allyson, Madame Bovary (1949) directed by Vincent Minnelli from the 1857 novel by Gustave Flaubert with Jennifer Jones, The Gunfighter (1950) by Henry King with Gregory Peck. She played Grandma Esther in the television series The Waltons (1972-1976).
