Esther Williams
Esther Williams (born in Inglewood, California, August 8, 1921 died June 6, 2013), a competitive swimmer, acted in movies like Bathing Beauty (1944) by George Sidney with Red Skelton, Thrill of a Romance (1945) and Easy to Wed (1946) with Van Johnson, The Hoodlum Saint (1946) with William Powell, Fiesta (1947) and Neptune’s Daughter (1949) with Ricardo Montalbán, Take Me Out to the Ball Game (1949) by Busby Berkeley with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, Million Dollar Mermaid (1952) by Mervyn LeRoy with Victor Mature. Williams received a Golden Henrietta as Most Popular Actress at the World Film Favorite Festival in 1952 organized by FPAH (Foreign Press Association of Hollywood), and a Hollywood Citizenship award at the 1956 Golden Globes.
