Giovanni Giorgio Moroder (born in Ortisei, South Tyrol, Italy, April 26, 1940) an Italian composer, songwriter and record produced, wrote the score for movies like Midnight Express (1978) directed by Alan Parker, American Gigolo (1980) written and directed by Paul Schrader, and the original song “Call Me” with Debora Harry, Cat People (1982) by Paul Schrader, and the song “Putting Out the Fire” with David Bowie, Scarface (1983) directed by Brian De Palma, Flashdance (1983) by Adrian Lyne, and the song “Flashdance…What a Feeling” with Irene Cara, the song “Take My Breath Away” for Top Gun (1986) by Tony Scott.
