Patricia Neal (Born Patsy Louise Neal in Packard, Kentucky, January 20, 1926, died August 8, 2010) acted in movies like The Fountainhead (1949) with Gary Cooper, directed by King Vidor from the 1943 novel by Ayn Rand, The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Robert Wise, A Face in the Crowd (1957) by Elia Kazan, Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) by Blake Edwards with Audrey Hepburn, Hud (1963) by Martin Ritt with Paul Newman, The Subject Was Roses (1968) with Martin Sheen, Cookie’s Fortune (1999) by Robert Altman. On television she acted in The Homecoming: A Christmas Story (1971), Tail Gunner Joe (1977), All Quiet on the Western Front. She was married to British writer Roald Dahl (1952-1983), wrote the autobiography As I Am (1988).
