Robert Evans (born Robert J. Shapera June 29, 1930, in New York City; died October 26, 2019, in Beverly Hills) had an only-in-Hollywood life. He began as an actor and in 1966 became head of production at Paramount Pictures, who oversaw Rosemary’s Baby (1968), Love Story (1970), The Godfather (1972), then became a producer with such credits as Chinatown and Marathon Man. In 1980 his memoir The Kid Stays in the Picture was published, which was adapted into a 2002 documentary.
