Samantha Morton
Samantha Morton (born in Nottingham, England, May 13, 1977) acted on British television in the movies Emma (1996) starring Kate Beckinsale from the 1815 novel by Jane Austen, and Jane Eyre (1997) from the 1847 novel by Charlotte Brontë, in the series The History of Tom Jones: a Foundling (1997). She acted in Sweet and Lowdown (1999) written and directed by Woody Allen, In America (1990) by Jim Sheridan, Minority Report (2002) by Steven Spielberg starring Tom Cruise. She played Mary, Queen of Scots in Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007) directed by Shekhar Kapur starring Cate Blanchett. She starred with Jessica Chastain and Colin Farrell in Miss Julie (2014) directed by Liv Ullman from the 1988 play August Strindberg. She played supporting roles in She Said (2022) with Zoe Kazan and Carey Mulligan and The Whale (2022) directed by Darren Aronofsky starring Brendan Fraser. She portrayed Catherine de’ Medici in the TV series The Serpent Queen (2022).
