Tippi Hedren

Nathalie Kay “Tippi” Hedren (born in New Ulm, Minnesota, January 19, 1930) was discovered by Alfred Hitchock who chose her to star in The Birds (1963), a performance that earned her a special award as Star of Tomorrow at the 1964 Golden Globes, and in Marnie (1964) opposite Sean Connery. She also acted in A Countess from Hong Kong (1967) written and directed by Charlie Chaplin starring Sophia Loren and Marlon Brando, Citizen Ruth (1996) by Alexander Payne starring Laura Dern, I Heart Hackabees (2004) by David O. Russell. She acted with her daughter Melanie Griffith in Roar (1981) written and directed by her husband Noel Marshall.
