Jacqueline Ward

Born Jacqueline McDonnell in 1941, Jackie Ward is an American singer with an estimated 800 television, motion picture, advertisement, and pop credits. Although she achieved “one-hit wonder” fame under the name Robin Ward for the 1963 song “Wonderful Summer”, Jackie’s voice continued to be heard on The Red Skelton Show, The Danny Kaye ShowThe Carol Burnett Show, and The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, as well as in themes for Flipper, Batman, and The Partridge FamilyShe dubbed the vocals for Natalie Wood in the 1966 Golden Globe-nominated song “The Sweetheart Tree” (from The Great Race), was the singer in Charlotte’s Web, and provided backing vocals for Barbra Streisand‘s “Stoney End”. Ward has also recorded with artists such as Nat King ColeBing Crosby, and Frank Sinatra, and her “la la la” vocals in Pat Boone’s Speedy Gonzales theme song were the inspiration for the catchy chorus in Elton John‘s hit “Crocodile Rock”.
