Ben Platt

Ben Platt (born September 24, 1993, in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor, singer, and songwriter who began his career in theater as a child actor and has appeared in Broadway productions of The Music Man (2002), The Book of Mormon (2012-2013), and Dear Evan Hansen (2015-2017).


He played supporting roles in movies like Pitch Perfect (2012) and Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), Ricki and the Flash (2015) by Jonathan Demme, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (2016) by Ang Lee. He starred in Broken Diamonds (2021) with Lola Kirke, in the film version of the musical Dear Evan Hansen (2021) with Julianne Moore, Amy Adams, Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg.


On television, Platt portrayed an ambitious student in the TV series The Politician (2019-2020) created by Ryan Murphy, with Gwyneth Paltrow playing his mother.
