
Edoardo Ponti
Edoardo Ponti (born in Geneva on Jan. 6, 1973) is an actor, director and producer. His film The Life Ahead (2020) was a double Golden Globe nominee, as non-English-language film and won for best song, with Diane Warren’s “Io Si.” The film stars his mother Sophia Loren in the lead, in a remake of the 1977 Madame Rosa, both based on the novel by Romain Gary. Ponti also wrote and directed Between Strangers (2002), Coming & Going (2011), the Italian-language Il Turno di Notte lo fanno le stelle and the 2014 Voce umana (Human Voice) based on the one-act by Jean Cocteau.
