Rachel Zegler
Rachel Zegler is a 20-year-old Colombian American actor and singer-songwriter born on May 3, 2001, in New Jersey. In 2015, she became an admired YouTuber and her rendition of Golden Globe winner Lady Gaga’s song Shallow, from A Star is Born, has garnered over 11 million views on Twitter.
In 2021, Zelger made her feature film debut as an actor playing Maria, opposite Ansel Elgort (Tony) in Golden Globe-winner Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story. In 2018, during an open casting call, Spielberg selected Zegler from over 30,000 applicants. As a high schooler, Rachel first played the role of Maria in a Performing Arts School presentation at the Bergen Performing Arts Center.
Her film performance and remarkable vocal abilities are already earning her awards season buzz, receiving a Golden Globe nomination in the category Best Actress Comedy or Musical.
Zegler is set to play Snow White in a live-action adaptation of the Disney animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, alongside Gal Gadot. She will also be seen in Shazam: Fury of the Gods, with Helen Mirren.
