The popular Italian movie star was voted World Film Favorite four times, in 1964 with Paul Newman, in 1965 with Marcello Mastroianni, in 1969 with Sidney Poitier, in 1977 with Robert Redford. She was nominated for a Golden Globe as Best Actress in 1961 for It Started in Naples, in 1965 for Marriage Italian Style, as Supporting Actress for Ready to Wear by Robert Altman in 1995. In 1995 she was the recipient of the Cecil B. deMille award.
Liza Minnelli, daughter of Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli, won a Golden Globe as Best Actress in 1973 for the musical Cabaret directed by Bob Fosse.
