Cannes is not only competition and cinephiles. As Hollywood-on-the-Riviera it’s also one of the world's foremost film markets and a giant springboard for Hollywood movies. The studios are once again present in full force on the Croisette this year to promote upcoming films with giant billboards, parties, press junkets and special events. One of the "specialest" so far has been Dreamworks' exclusive first screening of footage from their upcoming animated Trolls preceded by a live performance by Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick on the stage of a packed Salle Debussy. Timberlake executive produced the soundtrack for the film and composed four original songs for it. Kendrick sings and voices one of the little forest creatures. In Cannes they sang Cindy Lauper's classic "True Colors". The HFPA's Katherine Tulich had to ask them about it.
