For decades director Luc Besson has been trying to bring to the big screen one of the favorite comic books of his childhood – the French series Valérian et Laureline, written by Pierre Christin and drawn by Jean-Claude Mézières. 50 years after the first chapter of the saga was published, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets lands in theaters everywhere, with Dale DeHaan as space and time traveling agent Valerian and Cara Delevingne as his partner Laureline – and, as the DeHaan says in this exclusive interview, “the brains of the operation”.
