When you’ve been around for 75 years, well, pretty soon you get know people … As we gear up for a very special anniversary edition of the Golden Globes, a lot of friends helped us celebrate what has traditionally been the kickoff to Globes Season. HFPA president announced that Simone Garcia Johnson was selected as the first-ever Golden Globe Ambassador. That honor, formerly known as Mr/Ms Golden Globes, is traditionally bestowed upon the son or daughter of prominent actors. The new expanded designation includes duties as HFPA representatives to recipients of the numerous philanthropic grants awarded by the association. Ms. Johnson (16) is the daughter of Dany Garcia and Dwayne Johnson and announced her association with Global Girl, an association devoted to preparing minority girls for careers in media and journalism. The announcement and celebration of the HFPA Ambassador took place in West Hollywood and A LOT of people came to begin celebrating a very special Globes year. The HFPA’s Ramzi Malouki was there to ask some of them about it.
