Matthew Weiner on “The Romanoffs”

In his much-awaited return Matthew Weiner, creator of the seminal, 13-time nominated (and 5 times awarded) Mad Men, has crafted a sort of film anthology series. The Romanoffs is comprised of ten feature-length dramas built around a simple concept: each revolves around a purported descendant of the famous Russian imperial ruling family. In each case that claim may or may not be true, but it is the premise for stories which take place in a half dozen countries around the world filmed with a different cast. In a sign of the global times, some episodes are bilingual or even mostly not in English. Listen as Weiner tells us about the changing landscape of television and how it has influenced his work.
