As we’ve been predicting, the stack heel is starting to dominate on the red carpet. The sensual stiletto will never disappear; it’s a classic, but watch for the chunky heel to become the shoe of choice as the year progresses, reaching dominance in 2017. Already the young and avant-garde are going with the thicker heel. Initially you can look for ankle detail as women learn how to walk in the heavier construction. But that will give way to the stacked pump as the season progresses. Look for textured fabric to get its five minutes of fame too. Right now, enjoy the merging of the old, new and traditional footwear seen at Venice 2016.
