Bags, Shoes: It’s Always in The Details
Heels – hate them or love them. There’s a strange obsession for some women with shoes. Heels in particular. In a blind study, research shows that women in heels are considered more attractive. However, when we remove the shoe, the foot is often revealed to be somewhat deformed from the pressure on the toes. Corns, bunions: these are often the hidden consequences of the pointy-toed stiletto, not to mention the awkward walk of women who don’t know how to stride in a four-inch shoe. And yet, some women embrace them. Why? This gallery pays tribute to those who teeter on the red carpet. By comparison, men of course stride along comfortably in flats, but on the plus side, women do have the advantage of the little clutch purse, to hold their keys, phones and what-nots. Guys just have pockets, so are always asking women, “Can you put my keys, or phone, in your purse?” Which opens the door for all kinds of messages about servitude. Or sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, people like pretty things, and popping a key or phone into a purse is not an act against feminism, but merely practicality. Fashion is fun, and if you doubt that it’s an art form, click through the gallery. Names have been removed to protect the innocent – and fashion forward.
