Golden Globe winner Tom Selleck stopped by the Hollywood Foreign Press offices in West Hollywood the other day to talk about his new television series Blue Bloods, which will be seen around the world. In it he plays Frank Reagan, the head of the New York Police Department as well as the patriarch of a multi-generational family of cops. His oldest son, Danny, a detective on the force, is played by Donnie Wahlberg. “There’s a certain amount of action and police work but it’s really about how that work affects the family of cops,” he said. “It’s an Irish family and the family business is police work.” Tom, who was nominated seven times for a Golden Globe, won the award in 1985 for his role as Thomas Magnum in the long-running television series Magnum P.I. While appearing in Blue Bloods, he says he will continue to star in the Jesse Stone made-for-television movies about the troubled Massachusetts police chief. “I won’t give up Jesse Stone,” he says.
