Hero Moment -Comic-Con 2016: The New Power Rangers Are Here!
They are pink, black, red, blue and yellow, always in search of justice and have been loved by generations of children since 1993. The Power Rangers debuted in the US on Fox, ana adaptation of teh original Japanese Super Sentai series. Twenty-three seasons (and two motion pictures) later, the Rangers are back with a new feature that will make its grand entrance in cinemas on March 24th of next year, with an impressive cast that includes Golden Globe winner (and five time nominee) Bryan Cranston, three-time Emmy nominee Elizabeth Banks and Project Almanac director Dean Israelite as their guide. The brand new cast was introduced to the world at Comi-Con 2016, where thousands of fans lined up to see them in person at Petco Park, followed by a VIP party thrown by Lionsgate and Legendary. A day later the new team visited the HFPA Comic-Con lounge, unfortuntaley without their colorful uniforms. The five were very happy and really proud of the work they are doing on the set, and promised us an enjoyable adventure for the whole family with the customary diversity message that the Rangers have been delivering long before it became Hollywood’s hot issue. In the past the Rangers teams have been cast with unknown actors, but Israelite has now gone with cool, emerging talent : RJ Cyler, who plays Billy (the Blue Ranger), was Earl in the Sundance hit Me and Earl and the Dying GirlShowerMarco PoloThe Martian, The 33 and an important part in the cancelled show Terra Nova
