Jodie Comer: ‘In regards to my work my life has changed dramatically’
Jodie Comer nominated for Best Performance by an Actress TV series Drama for her role as Villanelle in the groundbreaking series, Killing Eve. The same role brought her a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series as well as a BAFTA TV Award last year. Throughout three seasons audiences worldwide have delighted in watching this beloved psychopathic Russian assassin, whose unusual relationship with MI6 operative, Eve, (Sandra Oh) has run the gamut from the usual cat-and-mouse game to one of mutual sexual obsession.
Free Guy, opposite Ryan Reynolds, in which she plays an avatar, as well as Ridley Scott’s historical drama, The Last Duel, in which she stars opposite Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, who also penned the screenplay (their second effort since their Golden Globe-winning script for Jennifer Aniston at the Golden Globes when we were all queueing up together and having pictures taken. That was a big moment for me. I think she said my name and I was like, ‘How on earth does Jennifer Aniston know who I am?’ And she was just so lovely, and I was like, ‘Oh, this is so frigging cool!’ That was the last time I was starstruck. But that experience I am holding onto it for the rest of my life.
