Anthony Anderson, Black-ish- Nominee, Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series – Musical or Comedy
Anderson stars in the comedy about an upper middle-class African-American family living in a primarily white neighborhood who worries that his kids are not aware enough of their heritage. The show deals with topics like racism, interracial dating, police brutality and homosexuality, but he insists the writers don’t rip stories from the headlines. “It just goes to the times in which we live and pulling from our own experiences. We pride ourselves on dealing with divisive topics that will bring people to the table that may have a difference of opinion.” The third season is airing on ABC. Anderson executive-produces the show as well, and this is his first Golden Globe nomination.
