Golden Globe Awards Nominated for Two Emmys
The 2015 Primetime Emmy nominees were announced today and, for the sixth year in a row, the Golden Globes Awards presentation was among them with two kudos: Outstanding Special Class Program and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special. Game of Thrones led the nominations with 24 entries including Drama Series, making HBO once again the leader of the pack, with 126 nominations. Runners-up were American Horror Story-Freak Show (19 nominations), the miniseries Olive Kitteridge (13) and the telefilm Bessie (12 nominations). House of Cards, Mad Men and Transparent all received 11 nominations each. There was a considerable overlap between the Globes’ and the Emmy’s choices: besides Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Transparent, American Horror Story-Freak Show and Olive Kitteridge, our nominees Downton Abbey, Ray Donovan, How to Get Away With Murder, Silicon Valley, Girls, Orange is The New Black, The Blacklist, Derek and Louie also made the cut. Newcomers Empire, American Crime, Better Call Saul and Wolf Hall were among the nominees, alongside audience favorite Tatiana Maslany, Outstanding Lead Actress for Orphan Black. Congratulations to all! The 67th Emmy Awards will be presented on September 20, 2015.
