Bob Odenkirk, Better Call Saul – Nominee, Best Performance By An Actor In A TV Series – Drama

Second time Globe nominee Bob Odenkirk for Better Call Saul, the spin-off series from Breaking Bad, doesn’t read his scripts very closely.  Maybe the comedian in him is joking, but here’s what he told us – “I really don’t.  I read the parts I am in and then I skim the parts I am not in.  It’s not just because I am a lazy son of a bitch.  It’s because as an actor, I feel like I should only know what my character knows and I shouldn’t know what’s going on off-screen.”  Be that as it may, his method is obviously working.  A critical and fan favorite, the show has been renewed for a third season.  Set six years before Breaking Bad, Odenkirk plays Saul Goodman, now going by the name Jimmy McGill, a shady and resourceful lawyer who will do anything to stay out of court.  Fans are still waiting, by the end of the second season, for him to become Saul.
