Cedric “The Entertainer” and Wilmer Valderrama to present nominees in all categories for the 81st Annual Golden Globe® Awards

LOS ANGELES, December 7, 2023 – Today, the Golden Globes® announced that Cedric “The Entertainer” and Wilmer Valderrama will present the nominees for the 81st Annual Golden Globe® Awards on Monday, December 11, 2023, with all categories announced on CBSNews.com/GoldenGlobes beginning at 5 a.m. PT/8 a.m. ET and ten exclusive categories revealed live beginning at 5:30 a.m. PT/8:30 a.m. ET on “CBS Mornings” on CBS. The nominees will be highlighted across Golden Globes social media accounts as they are announced, with the complete list of nominees available on the Golden Globes website (GoldenGlobes.com) immediately following the announcement. The 81st Annual Golden Globe® Awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.

 

Executive producer, director, actor, comedian and novelist Cedric “The Entertainer” and actor, producer, and activist Wilmer Valderrama will present the nominees for each of the 27 award categories. Cedric is currently starring in and executive producing the CBS hit comedy “The Neighborhood,” as well as starring in and executive producing the A&E Network series “Kings of BBQ” and hosting and executive producing “The Greatest #AtHome Videos.” Valderrama currently stars in the #1 TV drama “NCIS” on CBS and is developing a live-action “Zorro” series at Disney Branded Television. Valderrama is also a producer and activist, engaged in philanthropic initiatives, and actively involved with various organizations, including the USO, HARNESS, Voto Latino, the National Hispanic Media Coalition, and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

 

Two new awards categories were introduced earlier this year and will be awarded for the first time at the 2024 Golden Globes ceremony, including Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in Motion Pictures, and Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.

 

Film categories for the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards include: Best Motion Picture – Drama; Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy; Best Motion Picture – Animated; Cinematic and Box Office Achievement; Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language; Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama; Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama; Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy; Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy; Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture; Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture; Best Director – Motion Picture; Best Screenplay – Motion Picture; Best Original Score – Motion Picture; and Best Original Song – Motion Picture.

 

Television categories for the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards include: Best Television Series – Drama; Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy; Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television; Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Drama; Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama; Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy; Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy; Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television; Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television; Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television; Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on  Television; Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.

Multi-Emmy Award®-winning producing duo Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner of White Cherry Entertainment (WCE) will serve as executive-producing showrunners for the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards, with Weiss also set to direct.
