Celebrating our Golden Globe Winners: The 1990s
The 90s are the breakout decade for Julia Roberts, who wins a Globe for Pretty Woman shooting to superstardom. And Tom Cruise, whose Hollywood stature is confirmed at the very beginning of the decade with Born on the Fourth of July, also worthy of a Golden Globe. Steven Spielberg bookends the decade with Globes for Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan. Tom Hanks, Robin Williams, Jim Carrey and Nicolas Cage are some of the other names that recur in those years, in the movies – and on the Globes stage. So do Gwyneth Paltrow, Sharon Stone, Renée ZellwegerKate Winslet who in 1997 stars with another up-and-coming young actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, in a little Globe-winner called Titanic. Jean Claude Chaillet and Juliette Michaud continue their journey through the decades – and so does our countdown.
