An Emmy Nomination for the Golden Globes

The Hollywood Foreign Press has been nominated for an Emmy award for its Golden Globes show, which aired on NBC on January 15 and was hosted by Ricky Gervais.

The nomination, in the Outstanding Special Class Programs, is shared with Dick Clark Productions Inc. It is the third nomination for the Globes, the previous two having come in 2007 and last year.

HFPA president Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly commented: “It’s a great acknowledgment to all the dedicated members who worked passionately on the Golden Globes and all the participants on and off stage.” It was the HFPA’s 69th Golden Globe awards and one of the most star-studded ever. The Emmy awards come a bit later this year with the main telecast to air on September 23 on ABC. The creative arts ceremony—devoted primarily to technical categories—will be held on September 15.
