Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies have made their mark on television history. Josh brought James “Sawyer” Ford to life on the hit science fiction series Lost (2004-10). Sarah Wayne Callies has been in two shows that have produced rabid fan base followings, Prison Break (2005-09) and The Walking Dead (2010-13).
In the new series Colony the two join forces as a married couple living in dystopian LA, which has been occupied by a force of outside intruders. It is not clear if these are human or aliens, likely the latter, but necessities are scarce and people are pulled off the street without resistance or explanation. There is a privileged set who do the bidding of those in charge, both rewarding and punishing the population to control them. People have to decide to comply and survive, or to fight. Themes of survival, alien forces, freedom fighters and terrorists are explored. The pilot episode left you wanting more.
Josh damaged his thumb quite severely while shooting an action sequence, but showed no signs of the injury while promoting the show in Beverly Hills, looking relaxed and suave in an Armani blazer and jeans. In the series Sarah portrays yet another of the strong women that have been a constant in her career – a tribute to her mother’s influence as a role model, she says.
Sarah wore one of the fashion trends of the year: a jumpsuit (by Chio), that billows gracefully through the legs and fastens at the ankle, reminiscent of the garb worn in Prince of Persia. She teamed the look with gold Via Spiga shoes and a Maison Scotch Jacket.
