Avatar: The Way of Water  is the new number 1 at the box office in France. Directed by James Cameron with Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney WeaverAvatar: The Way of Water takes place a decade after the events chronicled in the first film and tells the story of the members of the Sully family. The movie grossed $13,922,403.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish lost one spot and is now number 2 at the French box office. Directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, the movie is about Puss in Boots who discovers that his passion for adventure has burned through eight of his nine lives. The movie grossed $1,852,353 reaching a total of $5,582,250.

Ernest and Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia premiered in 3rd place. Directed by Julien Chheng and Jean-Christophe Roger, this animated movie is about Ernest and Célestine returning to Ernest’s country to have his broken violin repaired but they discover that music is banned throughout the country. The movie grossed $862,344. 

From 2nd, Moonbound is now number 4. Directed by Ali Samadi Ahadi, the movie is about a young boy who embarks on an intergalactic mission to save his little sister from the clutches of a vengeful man on the moon. The movie grossed $762,622 reaching a total of $1,956,613.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever lost two spots and is now in 5th place. Directed by Ryan Coogler with Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, and Danai Gurira, the movie is about the people of Wakanda fighting to protect their home from intervening world powers as they mourn the death of King T’Challa. The movie grossed $459,370 reaching already a total of $24,504,332.     

Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile won two spots and is now in 6th place. Directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck with Javier Bardem, Winslow Fegley, and the voice of Shawn Mendes, the movie is based on the children’s book about a crocodile that lives in New York City. The movie grossed $383,919 for a total of $$1,827,735.    

Maestro(s) lost three sports and is now in 7th place. Directed by Bruno Chiche with Yvan Attal, Pierre Arditi and Miou-Miou, the movie is about the relationship between a father and a son who are music conductors. The movie grossed $341,829 reaching a total of $1,185,933.

The Black Pharaoh, the Savage and the Princess is back at the box office at 8th place. Directed by Michel Ocelot, this animated movie is a trio of colorful, sophisticated animated tales from an epic from ancient Egypt, a medieval legend in France, and 18th-century fantasy in Ottoman costumes and Turkish palaces. The movie grossed $323,837 reaching a total of $1,185,933.

Mon heroine premiered at number 9. Directed by Noémie Lefort with Chloé Jouannet, Pascale Arbillot, and Louise Coldefy, the movie is about a young lady living in a little city in France far from Hollywood glamour who wants to give her script to actress Julia Roberts. The movie grossed $312,613.

Simone Veil, a Woman of the Century lost four spots and is now in 10th place. Directed by Olivier Dahan with Elsa Zylberstein, Rebecca Marder, and Élodie Bouchez, the movie is about the life of the most famous politician woman in France: Simon Veil. The epic shows her terrible childhood, tragedies, and political struggles. The movie grossed $283,179 reaching a total of $17,099,035.
