The movie Top Gun: Maverick is still going strong and is number 2 at the box office. Directed by Joseph Kosinski with Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, and Jennifer Connelly, this sequel is about Pete “Maverick” Mitchell who continues to push his limits as a test pilot and in charge of training a detachment of young graduates from the Top Gun school for a special mission that no pilot would have ever imagined. This week, the movie grossed $1,600,050 reaching out a total of $36,273,762.
Jurassic World: Dominion remains number 3 at the box office. The movie directed by Colin Trevorrow with Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Laura Dern, takes place four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar when dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans all over the world. This week, the movie grossed $1,410,703 reaching a total of $22,180,921.
Lightyear dropped to 4th place. The movie is about the true story of the legendary Space Ranger who has since inspired the famous toy. After being stranded with his commander and his crew on a hostile planet located 4.2 million light-years from Earth, Buzz Lightyear tries to bring everyone home safe and sound. This week, the movie grossed $1,219,199 reaching a total of $8,109,330.
Elvis stays in 5th place. Directed by Baz Luhrmann with Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, and Olivia DeJonge, the movie is about the life of “The King” and his complicated relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker. The movie grossed this week $1,052,467 reaching a total of $5,824,816.
Irréductible opened in 6th place. This French comedy directed by Jérôme Commandeur with Laetitia Dosch, Pascale Arbillot and Jérôme Commandeur is about a man transferred to the North Pole who finds love over there. The movie grossed $988,549 reaching a total of $3,897,021.
La traversée dropped from 6th to 7th place. Directed by Varante Soudjian with Alban Ivanov, Lucien Jean-Baptiste and Audrey Pirault, the movie is about a cruise organized for five out-of-school teenagers to reintegrate them through the values of the sea but when they arrived at the port, they came across their skipper who is a former policeman! The Black Phone moved up from the opening at 9th last week to 8th place. Directed by Scott Derrickson with Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, and Madeleine McGraw, the horror movie is about a teenager being abducted by a child killer and locked in a soundproof basement who starts receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer’s previous victims. The movie grossed this week $427,252 reaching a total of $2,392,863.
Decision to Leave won one spot and is now in 9th place. Directed by Park Chan-wook with Tang Wei and Park Hae-il, the movie is about a detective investigating a man’s death in the mountains who meets the dead man’s mysterious wife in the course of his dogged sleuthing. The movie grossed $338,563 reaching a total of $1,093,544.
Arthur, malediction opened in 8th place and dropped to 10th place this week. Directed by Barthélémy Grossmann with Vadim Agid, Thalia Besson, and Ludovic Berthillot, the horror movie is about an 18 years old young man who has been a big fan of the Arthur and the Minimoys fantasy film saga for years and went with friends to an abandoned house where the film was shot, unaware that they are about to fall into a deadly plot. The movie grossed $286,004 reaching a total of $1,171,337.
