Minions: The Rise of Gru is now at 2nd place. Directed by Kyle Balda, Brad Ableson, and Jonathan del Val, the movie is about the dream of a 12-year-old who wants to become the world’s greatest supervillain. This week the movie grossed $3,294,223, reaching a total of $13,124,373
The new French comedy Ducobu Président ! is in 3rd place. Directed by Elie Semoun, with Elie Semoun, Émilie Caen, and Gabin Tomasino, the movie is about Ducobu starting the new school year and trying to be elected the student president. In its first week, the movie grossed $1,472,337.
Another French comedy called Menteur is now in the box office, with 4th place. Directed by Olivier Baroux with Tarek Boudali, Artus, and Pauline Clément, the movie is about the adventures of a man called Jerome who never stops lying but one day all his lies become real. The movie grossed $1,306,429.
The movie Top Gun: Maverick is number 5 at the box office. Directed by Joseph Kosinski with Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, and Jennifer Connelly, this sequel is about Pete “Maverick” Mitchell who continues to push his limits as a test pilot and in charge of training a detachment of young graduates from the Top Gun school for a special mission that no pilot would have ever imagined. This week, the movie grossed $1,070,019 reaching a total of $37,323,762.
Lightyear dropped to 6th place. The movie is about the true story of the legendary Space Ranger who has since inspired the famous toy. After being stranded with his commander and his crew on a hostile planet located 4.2 million light-years from Earth, Buzz Lightyear tries to bring everyone home safe and sound. This week, the movie grossed $576,559 reaching a total of $8,926,324.
Jurassic World: Dominion dropped from 3rd to 7th at the box office. The movie directed by Colin Trevorrow with Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Laura Dern, takes place four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar when dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans all over the world. This week, the movie grossed $567,450 reaching a total of $22,852,636.
Elvis dropped too, to 8th place. Directed by Baz Luhrmann with Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, and Olivia DeJonge, the movie is about the life of “The King” and his complicated relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker. The movie grossed this week $519,644 reaching a total of $6,551,276.
A new entry, The Night of the 12th, debuted at number 9th at the box office. Directed by Dominik Moll with Bastien Bouillon, Bouli Lanners, and Théo Cholbi, the movie is about an investigator haunted by the murder of a girl called Clara. In it first round, the movie grossed $506,368.
Irréductible dropped from 6th to 10th place. The French comedy directed by Jérôme Commandeur with Laetitia Dosch, Pascale Arbillot, and Jérôme Commandeur is about a man transferred to the North Pole who finds love over there. The movie grossed $405,559 reaching a total of $4,677,839.
