Directed by Joseph Kosinski with Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, and Jennifer Connelly, this sequel is about Pete “Maverick” Mitchell who continues to push his limits as a test pilot and in charge of training a detachment of young graduates from the Top Gun school for a special mission that no pilot would have ever imagined. The movie grossed already $9,979,892
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now number 2 at the box office in France. The story about a journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange directed by Sam Raimi and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, grossed $2,289,322 reaching a total of $20,880,997.
The new movie Men on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown just came in 3rd place. The French comedy is directed by Audrey Dana with Thierry Lhermitte, Ramzy Bedia and François-Xavier Demaison. The movie is about seven men, aged 17 to 70, all complete opposites and on the verge of a nervous breakdown, who embark on group therapy in the middle of the wilderness. The film grossed $641,541 in the first week.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is now in 4th place. Directed by David Yates, this adventure movie starring Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, and Mads Mikkelsen grossed $495,410 reaching a total of $20,335,793.
Brother and Sister is now in 5TH place. Directed by Arnaud Desplechin with Marion Cotillard, Golshifteh Farahani and Melvil Poupaud, the movie focuses on a sister and brother – an actress and a teacher/poet – who haven’t talked to each other for a very long time, and all changes when their parents die. Brother ad Sister grossed $452,324 reaching a total of $800,845.
Final Cut lost several places and is now in 6th. Directed by Michel Hazanavicius with Romain Duris, Bérénice Bejo and Grégory Gadebois, the movie is about a director shooting a feature film about zombies which quickly becomes a real zombie invasion. The movie grossed for his first week $438,423 reaching a total of $1,044,370.
The Northman is now in 7th place. Directed by Robert Eggers with Alexander Skarsgård and Nicole Kidman, the saga follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father’s murder. The film grossed $389,341 reaching a total of $2,545,931.
Serial (Bad) Weddings 3 is now in 8th place. Directed by Philippe de Chauveron and starring Christian Clavier and Chantal Lauby, the French comedy about the adventures of a modern multi-racial French family grossed $384,524 reaching a total of $17,075,310
The Bad Guys is now in 9th place. Directed by Pierre Perifel, the DreamWorks animated film signed chronicles the adventures of a gang of animals who are fearsome criminals. The film grossed $364,795 reaching a total of $7,561,668.
Fresh from Cannes, Crimes of the Future arrived this week and took the 10th place. Directed by David Cronenberg with Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart, Crimes of the Future is about a famous performer who shows the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde shows in which his body is subject to new transformations. The film grossed $318,637.
