Black Adam is the new number-one movie in France. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra with Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, and Pierce Brosnan, the movie is about the slave Black Adam who is freed from his earthly tomb and ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world by using the almighty powers he got from the Egyptian gods. For the first week, the movie grossed $3,841,654.

Novembre stays at 2^nd place. Directed by Cédric Jimenez with Jean Dujardin, Anaïs Demoustier, and Sandrine Kiberlain, the movie follows the French anti-terrorism services during the five days after the November 13^th, 2015 attacks in Paris. The movie grossed $1,941,499 reaching a total of $9,150,000.

After being last week’s number 1 in the box office, Simone Veil, a Woman of the Century is now number 3. Directed by Olivier Dahan with Elsa Zylberstein, Rebecca Marder, and Élodie Bouchez, the movie is about the life of the most famous female politician in France: Simon Veil. The epic movie shows her terrible childhood, tragedies, and political struggles. The movie grossed $1,828,919 for a total of $5,274,516.

The New Toy premiered in 4^th place. This movie is a remake of the successful 1976 French comedy with Pierre Richard Le Jouet.  For his son’s birthday, the richest man in France opens the department store that belongs to him. Alexandre chooses Sami, the night watchman, as his new toy. The movie is directed by James Huth with Jamel Debbouze, Daniel Auteuil, and Simon Faliu. The movie grossed $1,263,907.    

The Innocent won one spot and is now number 5. Directed by Louis Garrel with Roschdy Zem, Anouk Grinberg, and Noémie Merlant, the comedy is about a 60- year-old mom who decided to get married to a prisoner. Her son will do anything to protect her. The movie grossed $809,494 reaching a total of $2,177,898.

Smile lost one spot and is now in 6^th place. Directed by Parker Finn with Sosie Bacon, Jessie T. Usher, and Kyle Gallner, the movie is about a psychiatrist who starts to experience frightening occurrences after witnessing a traumatic incident involving one of her patients. The movie grossed $768,543 reaching a total of $5,391,588.

From 3^rd place, Jack Mimoun et les secrets de Val Verde is now number 7. Directed by Malik Bentalha and Ludovic Colbeau-Justin with Malik Bentalha, Joséphine Japy, and Jérôme Commandeur, the comedy is about Jack Mimoun who became an adventure star after surviving alone on the hostile island of Val Verde. The movie grossed this week $711,860 for a total of $2,529,784.

Belle et Sébastien: New Generation premiered in 8^th place. Directed by Pierre Coré with Michèle Laroque, Robinson Mensah-Rouanet, and Alice David, the movie is about a 10-year-old city boy called Sébastien who reluctantly spends his holidays in the mountains with his grandmother and aunt. His life is going to change after his encounter with Belle, a huge dog mistreated by her master. The movie grossed $680,684.

Halloween Ends lost 5 spots and is now in 9^th place. Directed by David Gordon Green with Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak, and Rohan Campbell, the thriller follows Laurie’s new life four years after the events of Halloween Kills who now lives with her granddaughter Allyson and is finishing her memoir. The movie grossed $604,292 reaching a total of $1,932,546.

The Black Pharaoh, the Savage and the Princess came at the box office in 10^th place. Directed by Michel Ocelot, this animated movie is a trio of colorful, sophisticated animated tales from an epic from ancient Egypt, a medieval legend in France, and an 18th-century fantasy in Ottoman costumes and Turkish palaces. The movie grossed $529,059.
