Kompromat stayed number 1 at the French box office. Directed by Jérôme Salle with Gilles Lellouche, Joanna Kulig, and Louis-Do de Lencquesaing, the movie is about a French diplomat victim of a “Kompromat” – forged compromising documents used by the Russian secret services to harm an enemy of the state. Threatened with a life sentence, his only option is to escape. The movie grossed $845,785 reaching a total of $2,078,042.

Chronique d’une liaison passagère is a  new movie at 2nd place. Directed by Emmanuel Mouret with Sandrine Kiberlain, Vincent Macaigne, and Georgia Scalliet, the movie is about a single mother and a married man who become lovers. Committed to seeing each other only for fun and not feeling any romantic feelings, they are more and more surprised by their complicity. The movie grossed $742,698.

The movie Paris Memories stayed in 3rd place. Directed by Alice Winocour with Virginie Efira, Benoît Magimel, and Grégoire Colin, this movie is about a woman who survived a terrorist attack in Paris but is still so traumatized that she is unable to recall the events of that night. The movie grossed $711,660 and reached a total of $1,532,499. 

The Visitor from the Future lost two spots and is now number 4. This science-fiction comedy is directed by François Descraques with Florent Dorin, Arnaud Ducret, and Enya Baroux. The movie takes place in 2555 in a devastated future and the apocalypse threatens the Earth. The last hope rests on a man who can travel through time. The movie grossed $519,820 and got a total of $1,434,283.

The tireless Top Gun: Maverick seems to be unbeatable and is back to the top in the French box office at 5th place. Directed by Joseph Kosinski with Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, and Jennifer Connelly, this sequel is about Pete “Maverick” Mitchell who continues to push his limits as a test pilot and in charge of training a detachment of young graduates from the Top Gun school for a special mission that no pilot would have ever imagined. The movie grossed $368,075 reaching a total of $45,852,551.

The French movie Citoyen d’honneur, adapted from the Argentine film El ciudadano ilustre (Honorary Citizen) by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat in 2016, is at 6th place. Samir Amin is a fulfilled writer, winner of a Nobel Prize for Literature, who lives in Paris, who decided to accept being made “Honorary Citizen” of Sidi Mimoun, the small town where he was born. Directed by Mohamed Hamidi with Kad Merad, Fatsah Bouyahmed and Oulaya Amamra, the movie grossed $356,735.

See How They Run just came in 7th place. Directed by Tom George with Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, and Adrien Brody, set in the West End of 1950s London See How They Run is about a movie version of a smash-hit play that comes to an abrupt halt after a pivotal member of the crew is murdered. The movie grossed $352,736.

Bullet Train lost more two spots and is now at 8th place. Directed by David Leitch with Brad Pitt, Joey King, and Aaron Taylor-JohnsonBullet Train is an action comedy about five assassins aboard a fast-moving bullet train who find out their missions have something in common. This week, the movie grossedd $346,530 getting a total of $10,366,513.

From number 5, Everything Everywhere All at Once is now number 9. Directed by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert with Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis, this comedy action is about an aging Chinese immigrant who has the power to save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led. The movie grossed $343,039 reaching a total of $1,732,343.

La degustation lost two spots and is now at 10th place. Directed by Ivan Calbérac with Isabelle Carré, Bernard Campan, and Mounir Amamra, the movie is about a divorced man who runs a small winery on the verge of bankruptcy. His life will change when a single woman will sign-up for a tasting workshop. The movie grossed $321,290 reaching a total of $1,604,334.
