GLEE’S GOLDEN GLOBES GIRL MOURNS CORY MONTEITH
Two-time Golden Globe nominee Lea Michele is mourning the death of her boyfriend and
fellow Glee star Cory Monteith.
Cory was at the Golden Globes ceremonies in both 2010 and 2011 when Michele was nominated as the best actress in a musical or comedy television series. The 26-year-old actress, who has been dating Cory for 18 months is said to be “devastated” by his sudden death in a Vancouver hotel room. Her representative said in a statement: “We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea’s privacy during this devastating time.” Lea, who plays Rachel on the hit show, had publicly supported the troubled Cory, 31, in his battles with drug addiction, and when he entered rehab in March, she said: “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.” She was waiting for him when he came out in April and they were last seen together when she tweeted a picture of them both on June 18. Millions of fans knew him as high school heartthrob turned teacher Finn Hudson — a show regular since 2009. Cory had been staying since July 6 at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, where he was visiting his mother. Just a few hours before his death, the star tweeted about watching TV movie Sharknado, which was a huge hit on the Syfy network.
