Golden Globes Gives $133.5 Million Boost to Beverly Hills, L.A.

The 2026 Golden Globes, along with ancillary events leading up to it, generated $133.5 million in economic impact for the city of Beverly Hills and Greater Los Angeles region, according to Greyhill Advisors, a leading economic analysis consulting firm, in partnership with Dick Clark Productions (DCP), the world’s largest owner and producer of televised live event entertainment programming.

The economic report analyzed the financial impact of the 83rd Annual Golden Globes® for the city of Beverly Hills and Greater Los Angeles region. The awards show was building on its long history of fueling job creation and driving significant revenue across key sectors such as hospitality, travel, dining, lifestyle, and more, while enriching the local economy.

The report underscores the dual role of the Golden Globes as a driver of premier cultural events and as a powerful economic engine for Southern California.

The total economic impact reflects spending by Golden Globes attendees and their guests, ancillary events including award dinners, parties and associated celebrations, and local operational expenditures by Dick Clark Productions to produce the internationally recognized broadcast.

This translates into dollars injected into the economy and provides real earnings to a variety of professionals that support the broadcast. The 2026 Golden Globes generated $43.9 million in increased employee earnings and supported approximately 550 full-time equivalent jobs, benefiting a broad range of professionals, from television production crews and event staff to hotel workers, stylists, and security personnel.

Each January, thousands of nominees, talent, production crews, glam teams, and members of the media travel to Los Angeles for the Golden Globes, “Hollywood’s Party of the Year®” and the first major award show of the season.

Collectively, Golden Globes attendees and related visitors accounted for $39.8 million in economic impact, including:

  • $18.1 million from personal care services such as stylists, hair and makeup artists, and facialists — marking one of the busiest periods of the year for these professionals in Los Angeles.

  • $16.4 million in spending at local hotels, restaurants, and retail establishments.

  • $5.3 million generated through transportation and security services.

The economic benefits begin well before the live telecast. As the first major awards event of the year, the Golden Globes catalyzes a weeklong calendar of brunches, luncheons, dinners, pre-parties, and after-parties across the region leading up to the show.

The economic impact tied to these ancillary events during “Golden Week” totaled $16.8 million, delivering significant revenue to hotels, restaurants, event venues, and hospitality providers throughout Los Angeles.

“The scale of the economic impact shows that the Golden Globes is not just an entertainment event, but also an economic event for Beverly Hills and the Los Angeles area,” said Ben Loftsgaarden, partner with Greyhill Advisors. “Digging into the numbers reveals the surprising breadth and depth of dollars flowing into the community, to hard working industry professionals and staff behind the scenes that make the week-long celebration a success.”

“We’re incredibly proud of the economic impact the Golden Globes has on our host city. Producing a show of this scale creates hundreds of jobs, supports local businesses, and infuses significant revenue into the surrounding community,” said Bill Bracken, EVP, Production, Dick Clark Productions. “Having staged the Golden Globes in the city of Beverly Hills for so many years, it’s especially rewarding to give back in a meaningful way and contribute to its continued vitality.”

Producing one of television’s most prestigious awards ceremonies and live broadcasts requires months of preparation and significant local investment.  Los Angeles–based Dick Clark Productions invested heavily in local operations and pours millions of dollars into the local economy each year.

DCP’s production activities for the 2026 Golden Globes generated $77 million in economic impact in the Los Angeles region alone.

Beyond direct economic benefits, the Golden Globes reinforces Los Angeles’ position as the nation’s leading center for cultural content production.

The “83rd Annual Golden Globes,” “ET: Live on the Golden Globes Red Carpet,” and the new primetime special “Golden Eve” reached a combined 21.77 Million viewers on CBS and Paramount+, according to Nielsen, and 27.07 Million international viewers across 169 territories, placing a global spotlight on the region’s creative workforce, venues, and world-class production capabilities. The city of Beverly Hills received $18.3 million in broadcast media value from the “83rd Annual Golden Globes” and “Golden Eve,” including visual and verbal on-air exposure.

As the entertainment capital of the world, Beverly Hills and Los Angeles continue to benefit from the Golden Globes’ unique ability to blend cultural significance with measurable economic value by generating jobs, supporting small businesses, and showcasing the region on an international stage.
