In writer-director Kelly Fremon Craig’s The Edge of Seventeen she offers a bravura performance of a different kind, exploring and exposing the emotional chaos of a very smart, very bright teenager in the punishing universe of high school. “The thing that stood out to me is that it’s not a teen movie, it’s not a high school movie, it’s really about what being a teenager feels like today”, she told us. “What am I good at?
