Hero Moment-Comic-Con 2016: Alec Baldwin Channels His Inner Baby

We’ve seen him master his comedic skills in the highly successful television show 30 Rock for which he won 3 Golden Globes and was four nominations. He’s also starred in brilliant in dramatic pieces, too many to list, collecting 11 Golden Globe nominations in various categories. In his long and amazing career, Alec Baldwin has done everything, including a few incursions in the animated world like being the narrator in the Thomas & Friends TV show, and lending his voice to characters in The Squarepants SpongeBob Movie, Madagascar:Escape 2 Africa, Rise of the Guardians and The Simpsons. But until now he had never been asked to spend hours dubbing the main character in an animated film.

That changed with The Boss Baby, a new comedy directed by Tom McGrath, whose credits include Megamind and the Madagascar franchise, which will arrive in theaters at the end of March 2017. Baldwin plays a really bossy baby, a role for which he seems specially prepared these days: "I am just up to my chin in children and my wife is having another baby in September, and we are going to have three kids in three and a half years", he explains with a big smile in his face, and continues: "Carmen turns three in August, our son just turned one in June and we are having our last baby. We actually contemplated naming our child Ultimo, because he is the last Baldwin in our family".

Alec knows a thing or two about bossy babies, an input he certainly puts in the film: "The nature of children as they grow towards independence is to push the boundaries of politeness a little bit.  Carmen is no more or no less assertive than other children and she wakes up every morning and has a Press Conference and tells us exactly what we should do, and then in the afternoon we have a follow up and she grades us on everything we have done. She is just unbelievably precocious and smart and funny, and we have just chosen to let it crack us up", he says with delight.
