The Golden Globes are the first awards of the year. The clamor of New Years reveling has barely died down, it seems, when the big red carpet gets rolled out in front of the Beverly Hilton, home of the Globes since 1961 and the backdrop of a true Hollywood tradition.
The ceremony known as Hollywood’s best party is the first unmissable event of the year and truly opens the Awards Season. The sea of black ties and gowns is the gathering where even stars become star-gazers and the gala event has a deserved reputation as the most fun-filled awards ceremony in Tinseltown. Yes, the Globes are about beginnings. Many a career has been launched by the little shimmering globes awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
