A Look at the Hottest Gowns from the 2014 Golden Globes Red Carpet

Black and white may have been the most popular color trend at last night’s (January 12) Golden Globe Awards, but there was no shortage of celebs donning bold, vibrant gowns either. Rich tones ruled the red carpet, where color blocking made a huge statement. Ladies like Amy Adams, Julie Bowen and Sandra Bullock all donned the multi-colored look. Read on to see a full list of Hollywood starlets who are worthy of sartorial mention. Kate Beckinsale: Mercy, Kate! The 40-year-old seemingly ageless actress has never looked better. She donned a gorgeous, metallic Zuhair Murad gown, Jimmy Choo shoes, Edie Parker clutch and Chopard jewels. Maria Menounos: She’s surely the hostess with the mostest! Everyone was head over heels for this brunette bombshell’s hot pink dress by Max Azria Atelier that strikes a perfect balance between racy and elegant. The frock was completed with strategic cutouts and a flirty train, and paired with a metallic gold Emm Kuo clutch, which definitely put her front and center on the fashion map. Allison Williams: The “Girls” star donned a black and white Alexander McQueen dress — the hottest color trend of the night. She accessorized with Jimmy Choo shoes, Cartier jewels, and smoldering makeup. Reese Witherspoon: After escaping to Hawaii last week, Reese is back on the red carpet and making a dramatic entrance wearing a custom teal Calvin Klein Collection frock that perfectly highlighted her post-vacation glow. Sandra Bullock: The 49-year-old “Gravity” nominee stepped out in a color-blocked pink, blue, and black Prabal Gurung gown that boasts a plunging deep-V neckline and a slight train. She added peep-toe black heels, a statement ring and simple studs to complete her getup for the night. Taylor Swift: The 24-year-old singer selected a gorgeous ball gown in her fave color, red, made by Carolina Herrera. It’s safe to say she looked modern, sophisticated and absolutely stunning! The lady in rouge matched the long bustled-frock with her signature red lip and accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Emma Watson: According to Emma Watson, pants on the red carpet is an acceptable look. The 23-year-old actress dared to be different, turning it out in an orange dressy-pant ensemble courtesy of Dior Couture. She swiped on a bright pink kisser to match her dark black liner and finished off her look with Roger Vivier shoes, jewels by Repossi, Anita Ko and Dior. Totally unconventional, but this girl can seriously pull anything off. Amy Adams: The 39-year-old star accepted her Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical award in a two-toned red frock boasting a V-neck and an alluring open back. Her hair was kept at bay with a twisted updo that highlighted her flawless face. She accessorized with gold jewelry, which looked stunning against the deep, ruby-red gown. Julie Bowen: The “Modern Family” actress looked like the picture of color-blocked perfection in her Carolina Herrera gown. Bowen paired her stunning red carpet look with Jimmy Choo heels and Jacob & Co. jewels. Helen Mirren: This Jenny Packham gown left onlookers green with envy — it’s undoubtedly one of her best looks yet! The award show veteran toted a Roger Viver clutch, which was complemented by her Bulgari jewels. Click here for a complete look at all the best dressed ladies on the red carpet!
