Mindy Kaling, Morris Chestnut to Unveil Globes Nominees Dec. 9

Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut will announce nominees for the 82nd annual Golden Globes on Monday, Dec. 9, with all categories announced on CBSNews.com/GoldenGlobes and the CBS News Mobile App at 8:15 a.m. ET/5:15 a.m. PT. Ten exclusive categories will be revealed beginning live at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT on “CBS Mornings” on CBS.

The nominees will be highlighted across Golden Globes social media accounts as they are announced, with the complete list of nominees available on the GoldenGlobes.com website immediately following the announcement.

The 82nd annual Golden Globes, the first major award show of the season, will air live on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S. (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs).*

Kaling and Chestnut will present the nominees for each of the 27 award categories.

Celebrated for her works such as “The Mindy Project,” “Never Have I Ever,” and “The Office,” Kaling is executive producing the HBO Max series she co-created “The Sex Lives of College Girls,” and is set to produce and write Netflix’s series “Running Point,” scheduled for release in 2025.  Chestnut is currently in production on his CBS drama series, “Watson,” premiering in 2025.

Votes will be tabulated by KPMG, the U.S. audit, tax, and advisory firm. “Being selected as the official vote tabulator for the prestigious Golden Globe Awards is an immense honor for KPMG,” said Lisa Daniels, vice chair, growth and strategy at KPMG. “We are excited to demonstrate our commitment to quality, integrity, and excellence, in support of this distinguished event.”

Entertainment data and analytics company Luminate is a new partner with the Golden Globes. The company is providing accurate streaming viewership data for all submitted film titles in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category, helping to inform consumption trends and amplify viewership insights beyond box office performance. Analysis will be done via Luminate’s Streaming Viewership product, through which the company empowers leaders across the entertainment, tech, finance industries, and more.

The product, which measures viewership of originally-produced and library content across all major streaming platforms, including Netflix, Max, Hulu, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Paramount+, Disney+, AMC+ and Peacock, earned Luminate a place on Fast Company’s list of the 2024 Most Innovative Companies in the World and fuels Variety’s recently launched Streaming Original Charts.

Luminate is an independently operated company and a subsidiary of PME TopCo., a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge.
